If it wasn’t for injury Jason Koon may well have pursued a career in athletics. The former high school sprint champion found poker in much the same way Hall-of-Famer Doyle Brunson did, both honing their craft on the felt whilst they nursed sporting injuries.

The 33-year-old American has made his name competing against the best in the business. During a particularly hot streak, Jason amassed $2.4 million in one month across three Super High Roller events - fields all stacked with poker superstars.

Jason not only has the ability to successfully compete in the highest stake cash games and Super High Roller events, he also possesses the patience to outlast huge fields. He has been the last man standing in massive online tournaments, where runners have exceeded 13,000 and 25,000 respectively.

Analytical and calculated, the finance graduate from West Virginia Wesleyan College is storming up the all-time money list, recently entering the top 20 with over $22 million to his name. No doubt his innate competitive sporting nature will help propel him to the top!
