Most mortals would shudder at the thought of taking up a seat at a high-stakes PLO game alongside pokering gods such as Jens Kyllönen, Ilari Sahamies and Juha Helppi. Joni Jouhkimainen isn’t most mortals. At the tender age of 18, the fresh-faced Fin did not hesitate in joining the action and mixing it with poker giants. The frenetic action which followed proved to be a formative experience in his development as a poker player.

Since then, Joni has skilfully combined his inherent confidence with a highly analytical approach to the game, producing truly enviable results in every facet of poker. Most notably, he took down three successive tournaments in his native Helsinki, amassing more than €100,000 in the process.
Joni’s success is showing no signs of waning. Representing partypoker for the first time, the intrepid Fin recently skipped across the icy fjords to claim 4th place (€70,000) at the Nordic Poker Championships.
