Marcel Lüske - Team partypoker
partypoker screen name: Marcel-luske
Whether he’s donning upside down sunglasses at charity events or battling down to the final few at WSOP Main Events, Marcel Luske is always up to something interesting in the poker scene. The two-time Player of the Year has racked up over $4.4 million in live winnings, flying from country to country to play in the world’s most prestigious tournaments.
As if two Player of the Year awards, 30 WSOP cashes including three final tables, countless televised appearances and formerly being ranked the best player in Europe wasn’t enough, Marcel has also helped establish a global set of poker rules via the Federation Internationale de Poker Association (FIDPA). The International Poker Rules are currently used in thousands of casinos across the world including venues as prestigious as The Bellagio and Mizrachi Poker Academy, indicating what a remarkable legacy Marcel is building.

10th place in the 2004 WSOP Main Event.
What has been your biggest win so far?
Staying healthy! Plus a few big scores down the line.
Do you prefer live or online games?
I love live games for the prestige and social aspects, but I love online for the MTT options and speed—especially the fact you can’t stall as easily.
What would you say the highlight of your poker career has been?
Helping to create a fair and fun environment for all players, and being a respected player. But my real biggest highlight is yet to come.
What is your top poker tip?
Just enjoy the game.
What else are you known for?
Singing, helping write the FIDPA poker rules, and of course wearing upside down glasses!
Are there any players that you look up to?
Phil Ivey, Mike Sexton and Mel Judah.
If you could play a game of poker with anyone, who would it be?
I’d like a rematch with Michael Jordan and Mike Sexton for charity, which is something we did in 2007 for Trent Tucker's Second Annual Hoopology Charity Poker Event.
If you weren’t a poker player, what would you be?
A singer.
Do you have a favourite poker quote?
“Shuffle up and deal!”
